Lets play What Is This

88 K5, came out of the steering column area. Little help on what it is so we can get a new one. Thanks in advance.

Underneath the column under the dash? Looks like a brake light switch.

He had the column dropped down changing out the ignition switch and the spring came out of no where he says. Then chased down where it came from but has no idea where it goes or what it is.

brake light switch...inserts into the metal dash right above the brake pedal arm. Tab on the brake pedal arm engages the now broken spring loaded button.

With 2 sets of contacts shouldn't it also deal with the cruise control?
