Front Sway Bar
I just got back from Pick-N-Pull with a front sway bar. It is 1.25" from a 1988 suburban. My plan is to put it on my 67. The front end has been update with 5 lug disc brakes.
Is this the right sway bar? I noticed Hotchkis sway bars look different. If this is the right one where can I get some mounting brackets? The 67 is lowered 4/6". http://www.hotchkis.net/product/1963...k=&yr=&md=&sm= The mount bracket on the passenger side is a little bent. The bar looks straight. And the frame rails look good too. So I don't think there has been any big front end damage to this truck. What do you guys think? |

Re: Front Sway Bar
I have a body shop and rebuild wrecks all the time trust me when
I say you want find a bent sway bar very often. The truck would have to look like it has been hit by a train before you'll find a bent sway bar. ECE has lower brackets for that bar. Nice score yes that is the correct bar for your truck. It would be a good one to grab the power steering if you don't have and plan to change over. Jim |

Re: Front Sway Bar
You have the right bar for your truck. I had a 1 1/4 inch bar on my truck with the ECE brackets for lowered trucks with the polyurethane bushings and you will feel the difference right away.

I didn't. But man I found a couple trucks that were untouched. I did see another truck with a BIG block. It was a mid 80's to early 90's truck. Seems like the BIG blocks don't get messed with much there. Not sure why. Quote:
Yeah I must of looked through 18-25 vehicle before I found this one. Most of the ones I found were 1 1/16" and a couple 7/8". For $26 I thought that was a good deal to give it a try. |
