Thousand dollar truck with new transmission

I bought my truck for a $1000 and it looks like it has a new transmission , I bought it from someone who bought it from a cars for charity place named Saint Vincent DePaul , I wonder if those places get donated parts when they receive the vehicle as a donation that is not running or driving .

I think when they get donated vehicles, they fix whats wrong and then sell them and that is where the value of the tax deduction for the donor
