Found 68 4x4 shortbed
I came across a 68 4x4 short bed this week end. It has a V6 emblem on the side but a turqouis colored 327 with High Tourqe sticker on it under the hood. This truck is pretty rough It also has a 4 speed. and tach in the dash. Is this a truck that would be worth saving . It would need a 100% restoration and of course it was not an original V8 truck. He wants 1000.00 for it. The box was replaced in 1990 and looks very good it's a stepside but I am not sure what year. It Had the hook and chain set up on the for holding the tail gate shut.

If it's truly an original swb 4x4, I'd say yes, it'd be worth saving. I must assume with the V6 emblems, that it's a GMC? Someone will have the production numbers. I think around 1300 swb 4x4 Chevrolets were made in 1968. If it's a GMC, you're looking at roughly 1/3 of the number.
Get pics if you can :p ttt

Yes it is a GMC. I did not get any pics and will not get back to the area for a while. I looked at the glove box door but there was no sticker on it like my 67 chevy has listing the options. Would it hurt the value alot to have the V6 gone and a 327 in it's place?

i think with those production numbers it is worth it and the motor can be replaced. 1000 for a 4x4 is a good price anyway
