How much space between fuel line pieces?

I got the fuel line made....there were many annoying moments but it's done.

However, how much of a gap do I leave between pieces of hard line (to be connected by hose)?

I left maybe a half inch gap between my lines for the fuel filter, just enough so the metal wouldn't chaff together and shave off or cause a crack from vibrating against eachother. It doesn't matter too much. Just make sure you don't post a picture if you use over a couple inches of rubber line. There's a few people here who are convinced your truck can burn to the ground!

Oh that's great, thanks.

Right now, I am at about 1/4 inch gaps between the in-cab line and the on-frame section. I have maybe 2 inches between the fuel line and the fuel pump.

I should be able to get pics tomorrow.

For those lines I tend to run the rubber lines around 3-5 inches for flex. I don't see how it could flex more than a couple inches on a 2wd vehicle but I'd rather not take the chance.

Anyone else want to weigh in?

I was rather hoping to hear from Tx Firefighter as he was the main reason I decided to bend my own tubing.
