What Coating...
doing some cleaning on my 66'.... cleaning the front fender wells out (not taking it apart). Anyhow wondering what would be the best to coat the inside of the fender wells with, black paint, undercoating, or whatever.....?

Re: What Coating...
Tom,
I used spray can undercoating on the fenderwells of my '65. I was happy with the outcome. Chris

Re: What Coating...
I wouldn't use that rustoleum truck bed liner spray. I use it on my jeep for the rocksliders and bumpers and it chips off pretty easy.
I regularly have to touch it up. (however since it's textured it's easy to touch up and blend, which is why I use it since bumpers and sliders scrape in the rocks all the time.) Rustoleum does make a rubberized undercoating that seems nice. I Herculinered the underside of my cab and a couple fenders, probably overkill but it's bomber |

Re: What Coating...
I agree with Pimpston. The Rustoleum undercoating is very tough. I under coated my fender wells 2 years ago and with a quick spray of water they still look fresh. One word of advice. There are 2 types. Use the one that says Professional on the front of the can. It dries fast. If you use the other that does not state Professional it takes 3 to 5 weeks to dry! I found out the hard way.

Re: What Coating...
I brush on a 50/50 mix of used engine oil and a black rust paint such as armour coat or tremclad. Its messy and stays wet for a long time but after about a year dries up and IMO looks OK. I think the oil soaks into the rust better than just the paint.
