Re: Hotwheels Custom 62 Chevy
The new yellow with white top and "Custom" on the door? Or any of the Custom 62 Chevy trucks?

Re: Hotwheels Custom 62 Chevy
There's probably close to 20 different variations of the 62 that hot Wheels produced, the yellow one is just the latest. There are several of them that are getting harder to find and getting up there in price.
Here is a great site to show the different ones they made. Just click on the black font "IMG" next to the Custom 62 Chevy in the Car name column to see each model they did. southtexasdiecast.com/hwguide/custom62chevy This is probably the best diecast website to buy from: thetoypeddler.com Prices are generally much lower than eBay and you don't find as many flakes. Do a search and you can find them, usually only a couple buck + shipping. 99% of the sellers will combine shipping so that's were you can make it a better deal. Re: Hotwheels Custom 62 Chevy
Wow, that tan and white one is almost the exact color combination I am using on my 68 dually project. First time I have seen anything close to it. Looks cool.

Made me laugh. I wish I was working on Homer instead of surfing this forum from the old salt mine, but I have to make some money to fund my addiction.

Re: Hotwheels Custom 62 Chevy
A little trick for all of you guys. Ever notice how the windows are not always that great on the diecast? Sometimes they're foggy or scratched. Get some Pledge Floor Care floor wax and you put a little in a small cup, dip the windshields into it and let them dry on a paper towel for 45 minutes or so. They will look better than new again. I even use it to make windows on new diecast look even better for my customs. Here is the video I learned how to do it from.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdnDewYsNq8 From what I understand the "Future" logo is no longer on the bottles. The bottle I bought at Walmart didn't have the logo and it works just fine. |

Re: Hotwheels Custom 62 Chevy
I agree. I did go ahead and get one of these the first I saw them on Ebay. But, I didn't pay 10-15 bucks! I looked through the listings and went with the cheapest overall w/shipping Buy it NOW! and I made sure it was under $10.
I have one of the yellow ones with mags and narrow whitewalls. Makes all the difference in the world. I'm deciding which wheels will look best with this one

Re: Hotwheels Custom 62 Chevy
I'm the same way, I won't pay the rip-off prices for brand new releases. I'll wait patiently until they get to more reasonably priced.

Re: Hotwheels Custom 62 Chevy
I had a friend come by a while back with his collection. He has all the '62 Chevys released to-date.

Re: Hotwheels Custom 62 Chevy
It's nice to see them all out and together like that. If I had the space, I would build the most extensive diorama with truck shops, junk yard, trucks show, drag strip, ORV area, hiway and housing construction sites, farm, a cruisin' blvd/burger joint/circuit, a beach, mountains... you know, a perfect world.
I found a seller offering these new '62s for $1.99 ea. He had more than 10 available and offers $.25 shipping after the first, so I got 3

Re: Hotwheels Custom 62 Chevy
I can't believe how few of these I have. I bought the first ones, I'm picky about some and don't but, then decide I like them enough to have. Also, I painted or changed wheels on a lot of these I had. This winter it will give me something to do, filling out my '62 collection.
Here are some other Real Riders wheel swaps I have
