tips needed for installing a repop rubber floor mat in my 51

I picked up a replacement floor mat for my 51 3100 at the swap meet yesterday and I`m not completely sure how the thing installs? I see that the I can take apart the started pedal, gas pedal and e-brake but how do you get the thing over the brake and clutch pedals? Do you have to remove them or does the pedal screw into the shaft I cant really tell.

Thanks

Pop the hood walk to the rear of the driver side fender, look just below where the pedals go thru the toe/floor board there is a nut on each pedal split the pedal there..

^^ yuppers, what he said. And then you can paint the pedals and install new pads and put then back in after you get the mat in.
