On the back panel of my 66 the top portion rolls over and is spot welded. I dont think that the blaster I am going to take it to has any special technique or tools to deal with, he might. If there isnt some kind of an attachment that he uses to thouroughly blast that inner folded over loop at the top whats the best thing to do? Drill out spot welds and pull it up enough so the blaster gets all the rust out?

just buy a new repop. by the time you blast it, you could buy a repop.

As long as that panel isn't rusted thru or beat up badly, keep your original. It shouldn't cost you more than $20-30 to have that blasted.

I wouldn't mess with that top rolled edge. If your blaster knows what he is doing he can just put the nozzle up to the end of the opening on both ends and blow some abrasive thru that tube. It won't be as clean as if there was better access, but that area should be fine. You can get creative with spraying or using other methods to get some primer in there. You could also use some POR15 in there too.

The blaster had agreed to a price for the entire truck and said bringing in groups of parts at a time was fine. So they gave the front panel a shot and the top roll part looks to be more than I can take on. Thinking to coat the panel with Ospho and store it for swap meet material. Dont know what a fair price for a panel like this is. A repop is around 140 plus shipping.

What's your plans for the whole truck? If it were me, I would fill with some light body filler, then prime until I either found better or decided on it. If done properly it should be just fine forever. If a total resto is the goal I would just replace and get what I could for it at a swap meet like you said. If it's a fauxtina driver, maybe consider above

Going for a first time total resto, so I think as much as I hate to spend the $ the time and frustration for repair that may be worth it. If they had a patch panel for that top roll I'd maybe do it.
