Rubber floor mat
I'm trying to decide between carpet and the rubber mat for my floor. I still have the original mat that came out of the truck which is in pretty good shape. Is there a way to clean and recondition the mat?

Re: Rubber floor mat
I opted for the rubber mat for my truck because that's what came in it from the factory. The best you can do is soap and water then dry it. Don't put any Armour All or anything like that on it because it'll get slippery/dangerous.

Re: Rubber floor mat
Whatever you do, DO NOT hang it up or drape it over anything......I did that with mine to get it out of the way and the "tails" ripped off of it!
Now the new one from Classic Parts is pretty good but I wanted to keep the original in service. |

Re: Rubber floor mat
I wonder if they could take pulverizing. I know with the amount of age the rubber can be brittle. But rubber is what is used when sand blasting to mask. It is very resistant and it cleans right up. Ever notice how clean tires get after running in sand? Maybe if it was laid flat in the sun and allowed to get as flat as possible and with the right media at the right pressure? Maybe experiment with some BS floor mat
