I am having problems trying to bolt the rear air bags through the frame and the c-notch. It seems that the threads need to be about .25 inch longer. anyone know of any bags that have longer threads or what i can do to get these to work. By the way they are the firestones 2600's
Any help is always appreciated!!!

Do you have the bolt in style c-section? That's what I've got on the rear of my 68 & I didn't run into any problems. I used a nylon crush style nut on the studs.

I have the some problem. I was only able to get about 1-1/2 turns on the nut. It's held so far but I don't like it. Here is my plan. I'm going to unbolt the c-notch and enlarge the holes in the frame to they are larger than the nuts. Then I'll bolt the c-notch back on and then will be able to thread the nuts on. The bag will then be attached only to the c-notch and the nuts will be recessed down in the frame. I'm pretty sure it wil work. Make sense??? I just need to make sure I make the holes large enough for a socket to fit through so I can tighten them down.

Buy slam bags, then you choose the length of the stud or bolt

Nsane have you been in a truck with Slams in the rear? I was wondering if they are too stiff for the rears. I am running slams on my front. On just about all the cars we do now we run slams up front, but we have not used them in the rears yet.

I got em all around. However my truck has not seen the road yet for a test drive.

But the Slam bags seem to be the best constructed bag I have ever seen or used.

slammed 67 thanks for the idea i was thinking about the same thing but was not sure. also what type of shocks do you run all the way around with the bags. i am running shock relocators in the rear but i am not sure of what to do.

Chris, I'm running Bell Tech Nitro Drop shocks all around. I got them with my Early Classic 4x6 drop kit before I decided to go with bags. I've heard good and bad about them. I have nothing to compare them too, so I can't really say if I like them or not.

Slams should be fine for the rear of that beast. If it were something lighter like a mini truck I'd say stick with firestones.

well i finally sucked it up and got the slam specialties RS-72 air bags. i then used 1" bolts and they bolt through everything perfectly. the bags were $100 a piece ( ouch!!) but in the end i think that it will be worth it. They are diffenently alot stiffer than the firestones but they look alot stronger!!
