Lmc truck
Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying some aftermarket goodies for my truck and was wondering if any of you have purchased anything from the company LMC truck. they sell all of the chrome side, tailgate, drip rail moldings as well as bumpers and grilles. I am more interested in the step bars and chrome fender flares that they make. I have a 1968 GMC custom camper 3/4. what fits and what doesn't? Anyone have any products from lmc that they'd like to show off? post pics!!.

Re: Lmc truck
I've bought stuff from them before. Never had any problems with them, but I live an hour away. You may want to do a little research here and read some reviews. Some folks here really dislike LMC.
I don't own anything that I bought from them anymore to post pictures of their product.

Re: Lmc truck
Some of their stuff is good, some isn't. I bought an upper radiator hose from them and it wasn't even close. But I've also bought a lot of good stuff from them. If you are thinking of buying factory side trim, go with Mar-K. Best quality hands down. I don't know about the wheel flares or Nerf bars though

I dunno either...but I'm pretty sure Miz Diane has plans to get to know them. We got our first catalog from LMC last night. This morning the cat looked like this.
I hope she asks Santa for it all...'cause damn!

Re: Lmc truck
Hit and miss like all other big box part sellers. Classicheartbeat and GMCPaul have better quality control.

Re: Lmc truck
They do have a nice catalog for parts reference.
They do carry some small, odd stuff others don't seem to carry. Their customer service is almost nonexistent. I don't recommend buying large ticket items like sheet metal, grills, trim, etc., there are member vendors that are much better with that stuff. Also buy your rubber and vinyl seals from the companies that make them like Steele, Precision, etc. Same goes with upholstery stuff like dash pads, seat covers, door panels and the like. Go to the source for these goodies. Keep in mind that a lot of the repop parts they carry are Chinese junk. Decent used OEM is a much better buy and you can get that stuff here on the parts board. This is my experience with LMC, nothing more.

Re: Lmc truck
I see you are in London Ontario. I have bought stuff from LMC and am satisfied with what I've bought. The thing you have to consider is that because you are in Canada first off and you are probably aware of this you will be paying at todays rate around a 23/25% premium on the US verses Canadian dollar. The other thing you have to consider is that is that LMC Truck likes to ship via Couriers such as UPS, Purolator, Fed Ex etc. These courier companies charge what they call broker fees so if you buy lets say 100.00 US with of parts I'm pretty sure LMC will want 30/40 to ship them so right away your 100.00 US order turns into 125.00 CDN with the exchange and 40.00 shipping will cost you 55.00 Canadian so now your 100.00 with of parts from LMC is costing you 180.00 CDN and then when UPS shows up at your door they will want 20/25.00 in broker fees so now your right at or close to 200.00 CDN on your 100.00 US dollar order of parts. You can try Bills Truck Shop in Ontario, although I haven't bought from him I have heard good things about him. Scotts Super Trucks is in Alberta and I have bought stuff from him and his prices are reasonable.

Re: Lmc truck
My problem with LMC is the quality of some of the items they carry, and some of their prices. While I do get their catalogs and their prices seem to be coming down for certain things, overall you can pay the same price to them for a foreign made part, as you would to classic heartbeat or GMCpauls for what you KNOW will be the best fitting aftermarket part available.

Re: Lmc truck
2nd that. My 1970 Burn Victim has seats in it from him. they took a while but good quality. 2nd on the Mar-K for trim. They carry quality made products and sheet metal. If you do need aftermarket sheet metal at least make sure it is tri-plus or other reputable aftermarket company. On another note there are a lot of Billet manufactures out there but you will be giving up an arm and a leg to get some.

Re: Lmc truck
I don't live to far from there myself. They are terribly overpriced for alot of everything. I have only shopped at LMC on Sundays a couple of times only because Classic Parts of America is closed and I usually can't wait till Monday. I will say that LMC does sell Woodall Industries bedsides and that is the only reason I plan on buying anything from them in the near future.

Re: Lmc truck
Anyone have any experience with Classic Truck Parts of America? They re out of Kansas City. Like four hours from me and they said five days shipping on a turn signal switch. Shoot, if I had brake lights I would drive up....

Re: Lmc truck
I'm not sure about LMC, but I wouldn't use Brothers. I bought a front bumper from them 5 years ago and it's showing rust spots already. In Colorado!

Re: Lmc truck
At this point I'm sold on Manes and Classic Heartbeat. No doubt there are some other good ones. Personally, I wouldn't buy from LMC unless I had to. IMO, their best feature is their part references.

Re: Lmc truck
I bought emergency stuff from LMC as I have had problems with Victoria British when I restored my MGB. Will have to check out Manes as haven't found out about them yet. For all my big items i used GMC Paul and had was very happy. Had one problem with a part from him and he took care of it fast with no issues. Go with board vendors they have a vested interest in these trucks and are not about the cheapest supplier.
