master cylinder piece

Can anyone tell me what this cylinder piece is that came with my new master cylinder? I didn't see one with my old one and not sure what it is. Thanks guys.

CPP ?

That pin makes the master cylinder universal for manual or power brakes.
If you were using that MC for manual brakes you could throw the pin in your tool box. You have a power booster in your picture so put the pin in the back of the MC and adjust the pin on the booster for the clearance CPP specifies.

factory master cylinders come with a deep hole for manual and short hole for power boosters.

It didn't come with specs for how to adjust the pin. How would I do that? Thanks
