Re: Mechanic in Central Florida
On topic, if anyone knows of a good conscientious mechanic that does home visits in Northern Nevada, I could use an extra hand to lead some things on the 71 (steering box, disassemble/reassemble for before/after body removal, new wires).

Re: Mechanic in Central Florida
I was looking for the same, specifically a mechanic that does LS swaps. It looks like you didn't get anything directly here, but did you find a mechanic you'd recommend? I have had very good luck with the mechanics at Lake Mary Shell. (just north of Orlando) Fair prices, experience with older trucks. I have used them for carburetor tune-ups, sway-bar installations, brakes, steering parts. But, I figure there some expertise required for an LS swap with the wiring, etc. to our old Chevy rigs.
