weatherstrip adhesive
got a little loco with the 3M weatherstrip adhesive. how can you clean a bit off without taking the paint with it?

3M also makes a great adhesive remover. I got mine at the paint supply store, comes in a quart can. You'll find lots of uses for it.

I'd stick with the 3M adhesive remover. It really does work great on a lot of things.
