width of space between the front fenders and hood

What is the correct gap that is supposed to be between the front fenders and the hood on both sides? Thanks, Al

Re: width of space between the front fenders and hood

.15" - .20".

Ideally it should be the same on both sides, and it should be the same front to rear.

It may not be, however, as the rear of the fenders are adjusted to match the doors and A pillar.

Ive got the same problem after replacing just one fender for a GM original. Had to find a happy medium all the way around and it still irritates me. Is there anyway to get the fenders in more at the front? Meaning, the front of the fender closer to the hood?

No. That distance is set by the width of the rad support, which is unchanging.

You'd have to section a piece out of the rad supt.

Thank you. Those fenders have never been off. I installed them on the assembly line myself in September of 1986 and they haven't had a wrench touch them since then.
