1970 c 10

Found a c-10 to 1970 swb fleetside for $1500 no engine or transmission body pretty good but will need rockers. my question is it's 6 lug, I'd be lowering it and putting drop spindle on the fron so that's no problem converting to 5 lug..

But what do i need to do on the rear end , just change axles or whole rearend? and what axles?

Dennis

Re: 1970 c 10

Just swap out the axles from a five lug truck. The axles were the same through the seventies so there are lots out there. Just make sure you have the wider axle some say 1970 was a changeover year and some had the earlier shorter axles. Mine had the wider axle.

You can pull your axles and have them redrilled to the 5 lug pattern or buy new ones from Moser Engineering or similar. Check Summit Racing, they sell them. You also need the 5 lug brake drums too. Many places sell this as a "kit." Check Early Classics, or CPP for the kits.
