1980 GM truck windshield rubber w/ chrome insert

My bodyman cut out my old w/shield rubber as I had to replace my w/shield. So my local bodyshop ordered me in a Precision rubber and it was way too long. I've since tried 2 more Precision versions ordered in thru them and they were too long. Now I'm waiting on another one from another source but not sure when it's coming in or who it's made by.
Has anyone had any luck finding a replacement rubber that works the first time or would an old one out of another truck work?
I've been wanting to drive my new to me '80 GMC Sierra Grande 2wd shorty this spring but no luck on a rubber so far. Been waiting at least 6wks for one that works. To say I'm frustrated is an understatement.

Can anyone help with this dilemma of mine? Thanks guys!!

Got bad news for you . There all like that . You have to compress it while installing .They are made that way .It will fit just have to work it in .Precision is a good seal .

Check out this video about the 6 minute mark . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtmeTSvwaTw
