1970 c20 dually
Hey guys im new to the site and am needing help. I have had this truck just a little over a year now. I have stripped it down to the frame. Had the frame blasted and painted. I have a engine and trans out of a 2006 tahoe thats going in it. I am ready for assembly but the issue is the suspension. I wanted an ifs front suspension for this thing but they dont offer it in 8 lug. I could go 5 lug ifs but i have the cab lights on the truck and i thought it would goofy and take away from the truck if i didnt stay with the 8 lug. Ive been stuck at this point for a while now and dont know what to do. Also the rear end is i think the eaton which is hard to find parts for or convert to disk brakes. Any help would be appreciated. Pics coming soon.

Re: 1970 c20 dually
Most people use the front suspension out of the 73-87 trucks it bolts in,Yeah the eaton rear is hard to find any parts for i would look to swap in a dually rear end from the 73-87 trucks.

Re: 1970 c20 dually
Sell the Eaton and find a c30 frame. That will give you better brakes, the 8 bolt hubs, and everything is beefier over the 20 frame.
I put disc brakes on my full float 14 bolt for around $400. But, I had to grind the Monty calipers to make the stock 16" wheels work with the massive spring pack. Most newer trucks have a 11.5 with disc brakes and that may be a better option if you want the easier maintenance. No idea if the stock 16" wheels will work with the 11.5. I am sure someone can chime in. But, 14 bolts and 14 bolt parts are everywhere. Good chance you can find one with the ratio you want. If I went with a 17" or larger wheel the calipers would not have hit. But, I have 20 of the 16" dually rims collected at this point and 16" tires are cheap.
