Removing a 292?
I am trying to pull a 292 out of a 1966 longbed as I sold chassis minus the motor. I wanted to leave the bellhousing and transmission in place and attached to the cross member, just taking the motor. However, I can't get them to come all the way apart.

Yes, there is not a body on the frame at all. I could not get it to move forward and didn't want to go at it with a bar.

Ok....I did the same thing....I'll do a step by step for ya....1st...disconnect the clutch linkage from the engine and tranny. 2nd. Take the inspection covers off the under neath of the bell housing. 3rd. Take all the pressure plate bolts out(have someone turn the engine over for you). 4th. take the bell housing to engine bolts out. 5th. take the oil pressure line off. 6th. take the front engine mounts off...there are 3 bolts for the mounts..2 on the top and one underneath were you can only feel it. That motor will pull straight out.

Thanks guys, I got it out the next morning. I just had to jack the rear of the transmission up a little to get it level and the engine slide right out.
