lowering on a budget
I wasn't able to locate a thread with my particular problem I have a 71 c-10 that I have 2 1/2" drop spindles that I want to install. I also plan on lowering the rear about 4". Ive read and heard about tracking problems when using these unless I also use either purchase both upper and lower control arms or just upper control arms that are configured to correct this problem. I dont intend to race this vehicle on a slalom course just want it for riding around town and short trips Thanks for any advice

Re: lowering on a budget
You're ok to use the stock upper and lower control arms with a 2.5" drop spindle. A 4" drop in the back is borderline with the factory panhard bar that locates the rearend from side-to-side. That may be where you heard about tracking issues. Your best bet is to get an adjustable bar to recenter the rearend after you drop it.

Depending on what year drop spindle you purchased youll have to change your ball joints and tie rods as well.
