What is it and what is it supposed to look like. Had a guy on another site trying to figure this out for his truck. 1985.

I sent a note to the Janesville plant planner (in 1985, now retired) to see if he knows or remembers.

Re: 4333AA- AA Special Paint code?

No luck- he didn't recall seeing it or know what is was.

I'm afraid that may just be the way it is. I know with vintage Pontiacs they would denote that the vehicle had special paint (via the cowl tag, with the word "special" or with nonsense codes: "&&&" or "---") but not give a description of what that special paint was.

That may be the case here, too.

Re: 4333AA- AA Special Paint code?

By looking at the truck, can you tell what color it was originally painted?

Re: 4333AA- AA Special Paint code?

Would it be some company ordering a fleet of trucks?

Yes.

Rs74 - you may have to look underneath, at the firewall, under the trim, etc to see if you can find undisturbed remnants of the original paint color.

I think he said it was a light tan or beige. Here is a pic from the dash. The truck was repainted yellow.

Re: 4333AA- AA Special Paint code?

I did find an SEM code that matched that was a "sand beige" color but I didn't mention it because it was for interior vinyl and plastic.
