My New Acqusition

I thought it was high time to upload some photos of the new truck I have been asking so many questions about!
It is a 79 k20 with a 350. 26,000 miles, and rarest for New England a spotless frame and near perfect body! I bought the truck from the local fire company last fall. Based on the looks of the utility body, and my best recollections, it is not original to the truck. My plan was to remove the utility body and replace it with the factory original 8 foot fleetside bed. As best as I can figure the truck came factory with 16.5 rims and a painted front and rear bumpers. I was going to go to stock rims ( maybe 16's for ease of tire purchase) and bring her close to stock.

Thoughts?

Re: My New Acqusition

Awesome find... It must have only been used in summer time parades! The amount of 1979 K20s that lived their life in NH and didn't rust? That's got to be an extremely small list.

Glad you have the 4 speed stick. That tranny just feels right on a 3/4 ton 4X4 in these trucks.

Nice truck.

Make sure you have the right wheel base.

Some of the Cab n Chassis trucks have a 5" longer wheel base, to accommodate a 9' utility bed.

Re: My New Acqusition

This one shipped from the factory with a fleetside bed...
How do you all think a stepside would look?
