What to do, Front end

Got my spindles 2 1/2" from summit. Was planning to install & cut the front the spring 1 coil, This would let me know how it going to set, or install & put back the stock springs to see how it sits. Do I really need a spring compressor ?? I really don't want to buy new springs 1" dropped & find out don't like the sit. I did the rear with 4" springs & 2 1/2 blocks, I like the results. What do you think ??
