Steering wheel size
Is a 14-inch steering wheel a little small (cosmetically) for a full size truck (2nd gen 55)? Looking at the 14 or 15 inch Banjo style Mohagany wheel from Forever Sharp. 15-inch is out of stock for another month or so, 14 available now. It's going on an Ididit column, and does have power steering so again it's just a cosmetic thing.

your choice, with power steering effort is not an issue. I converted a 48 steering wheel to my GM column because I wanted it to look like a truck. But I also think a nice 14" would fit a modern interior theme. Welded chain or 12" foam, not so much.... If you do not have PS I would stick with larger stock size unless your forearms are the size of my quads.....

My preference would be to wait for the fifteen inch wheel. Those fourteen inch and smaller wheels look out of proportion to me in a truck, just too small. I shrunk my TF wheel to fifteen inches using a Ford ring. I think the proportion is good relative to the dash and cab width and it doesn't obstruct my view of the gauges.

i got a new 15" forever sharp wheel and i think the size is just right

I have a tilt column and where I like to position it a 14 is the best fit. When standing back I'll admit I think a 15 would look a little better proportionally but I would rather go with a wheel that's sits where I like it.
I would agree that anything smaller than 14 would look out of place. |
