Steering wheel ideas
I would like to find a wheel that looks like it would have come from the factory but 15" in diameter. I would also like the rim of the wheel to be a bit thicker than stock. Any ideas??
Seems like all the wheels I'm finding don't suit the look of the relatively stock interior. |

How about a 70's Oldsmobile 442 sport steering wheel?

Re: Steering wheel ideas
That's a nice wheel. I'm running this Grant 14" that's not stock looking but has the retro feel I think. PO had a late GM truck 4 spoke wheel when I got it. Was kinda wrong I think but a lot of guys run it. IMO

Re: Steering wheel ideas
I'm a big fan of the 88/89 chevy cavalier wheel, I've used that wheel on all the highend trucks and burbs I've built over the years......

Re: Steering wheel ideas
I like that Olds wheel. I looked at the Cavalier wheel, but IMHO looks a bit too 80's and is not the look I'm after. The wheel from LMC is nice too.

Re: Steering wheel ideas
IMO, go with an original wheel. I refurbished a stock GMC wheel, it's not too hard to do, and it looked great with the slightly custom interior I had.

Re: Steering wheel ideas
I really like these in our trucks, they really match well I think. And you can get them with the woodgrain strip in the center which matches if you are running that trim and looks right at home. I just did a quick search and came up with these, you can find them pretty easy and cheap. I think early to late seventies chevy cars ran them in various forms, Nova, Monte Carlo, etc.

Re: Steering wheel ideas
The '69 Camaro Comfortgrip wheel installed using the 67-68 Camaro hub kit is my go-to wheel for these trucks. Period correct look and feel but much more stylish than the truck wheel and smaller diameter.
