Re: new here! needs brake shoes...

Welcome and great looking truck your wife has!!!

Are you looking for the wheel cylinders? That's the part where the rear brake lines would connect to.

Or do you need brakes themselves?

Re: new here! needs brake shoes...

The cylinders are available at NAPA auto parts.

Left UP9344
right UP9345

Rear brake hose (goes from frame to rear diff) UP33676

Rear brake spring kit UP2250

Have had no luck finding the rear brake shoes, but the fronts seem available.

Re: new here! needs brake shoes...

Welcome to the forum Robban

The 15 x 4 you ask about would normally be referring to the diameter (15 inches) and the width (4 inches) of the drums and correct shoes. However that does sound a bit large for a Eaton HO52/72. I would have thought those shoes to be closer to 13 inches in diameter and about 3 inches wide. I would say that you will need to measure the shoes that you have and let us know and possibly we can help you find them here in the US and get them shipped to you.

Regardless, I do understand your difficulty in finding the brake shoes there in Sweden.

The back of the cab at the roof and side on your wife's C30 looks a bit odd. Do you have any pics from the rear or the side?

Good eye. I saw the sunroof, but there does seem to be some modification to the back cab and roof skin.

Mystery solved.......C3605 would be a panel. So I'm guessing it was cut down and modified to a truck.

The research I found showed 2 3/4" back brake pads....

Re: new here! needs brake shoes...

Very nice. I see that it was a panel truck originally. Did you purchase it that way or do the mods yourself. I like the split back window.....very cool.

Really nice truck you have bloodwheel. I like the lights and glass in the back. Definitely different.

Re: new here! needs brake shoes...

You have a later 14 bolt rear end that someone swapped in, not the original Eaton rear. Measure the width of the shoes and the inside diameter of the brake drums to determine what shoes you need.

Googling the casting number on the wheel cylinder seems to come up with one for a '74-'75 C20 or C30, which is probably what the rear end is from (and what you need to buy parts for).

Going by your pictures, I am going to guess a 13" x 2.5" shoe for a '75 C30 will probably get you back on the road.

Hope this helps!

Re: new here! needs brake shoes...

The truck was original a ambulance sold in sweden in 1967.

I think it rolled in Uppsala for many years..

Then it got sold of and around 1980ish some of the previous owners cut i up and made a pickup truck instead.
I rolled as a flour truck for a couple more years.

I guess some along the way it got a bit worn and to old....

We found 10years ago in a garden without a engine and a broken 700th tranny on the bed..
We bought a Camaro 305 engine och replacet the 700th with a working one
Did some welding, abit of paint and tada...

Electrical systems is from a 1987 van.
Its got PS,PB.
She did alot of the work herself
Good fun and very easy to drive...

Re: new here! needs brake shoes...

If you can take a picture of the rear cover in the center of the differential, that will help confirm what differential you have.

Re: new here! needs brake shoes...

Yes, that is a 10.5" full floating 14 bolt differential.

Re: new here! needs brake shoes...

The 10.5" full floating 14 bolt was used from '73 up into the 2000's in C/K20's and C/K30's. The easiest way to know the exact year would be to pull the rear cover and find the date stamped on the ring gear. There is a code stamped on the passenger side axle tube, but then you will have to find a listing for the 14 bolts to find the year and gear ratio.
