Carburetor Question

I was given a 2 barrel rochester that came off of a 70's model chevy 400. I would like to rebuild this carb and put it on my 250 to replace the old worn out 1 barrel. does anyone know of any problems i would run into by doing this?

I believe you will need an adapter, or an intake manifold that will accept that carb. May also need to fabricate linkage.

Yes. All the problems Woof mentioned plus its too much carb for that engine. A small 2 barrel like from a 265 or 283 would work but you will have plenty of modifications to do.

yes on both ...and at that point of buying a intake to run the 2 bll carb . you might as well buy a 4 bbl intake and run a 4 bbl carb i know its sound wrong but a 4bbl carb gives you better MPG than the 2 bbl will reason forthis is that the Primary's are smaller than the ones in a 2bbl carb and at cruise speeds you are only useing the the primary's the the other 2 will only come into play when you floor it .. i say get your self a 4bbl intake and a 600 cfm carb . and you will be good to go

stock 250 inline six can run and do run very well with a 600 cfm carb 4bbl http://www.shop.cliffordperformance....-42-4501WH.htm
