Another d#$& lowering question !
I'm still working on my new crate engine install, almost done. And Gathering parts for a static suspension drop. I'm waiting to be able to still tow with my truck. So I'm going with hangers and shackles in the rear.
Now for my Question. Which is betterer drop spindles or drop lower control arms. Or drop springs. I don't think springs will do what I want alone. I intend on new drop shocks all the way around. Thanks Ken

Re: Another d#$& lowering question !
I am a big fan of spindles instead of control arms.
Spindles will theoretically correct roll center and minimize bump steer issues, whereas dropped lower arms cannot. Dropped control arms are better than radically cut coils, because they retain some decent suspension travel. But I would still pick spindles.

Re: Another d#$& lowering question !
Spindles are what I had pretty much decided on. But having never owned a Chevy Trk. that has been lowered, I needed that second opinion. Thank you.

Spindles are your best option to lower the front.

But how low are you wanting to drop all around?

Re: Another d#$& lowering question !
How low ? Taking in consideration I do tow with this truck, a motorcycle trailer and once in a while a car trailer. 3 to 4 in the front and what ever hangers and shackles will give me. If I have to remove the overload spring(helper). I will add air bags to take care of the loss in spring load rate.
Working with a C20 heavy duty suspension is new ground for me. So I'm moving forward slowly not wanting to do something to drastic that I won't like. Ken

Oh I didn't realize this was a C20. You'll probably wanna do spindles and springs in the front. Especially if you want 4".

Re: Another d#$& lowering question !
My truck has stock 16 in wheels, but I considering changing to a set of later model aluminum 17 in wheels.
What is nice about this is I have the time mess with all these things. I do what my budget on such projects, being retired you have to watch how much you spend. So I always try to be smart about things. I picked up a daily driver which took some of the pressure off. Plus I have my bikes to ride. So if I don't feel like working on the truck I don't, I work on bikes. Which is my first love. KA
