Gas tank help!
Hi all,
Just wanting some advice on what is the best route to go for a rear mounted gas tank. my truck is an 88 r30 crewcab dually, it has a 12v cummins motor from a 93 dodge 1 ton and the matching dodge automatic transmission. I am looking for a tank that will fit between the rear frame rails, preferable aluminum withan in tank fuel pump. I am willing to spend money to buy the best/correct part. let me know what you think. thanks in advance.

I don't know what you can use, but I would look into a Suburban rear tank with fuel injection, or possibly a full size Blazer. Of course, you can't use your spare in that location.

No spare required. Truck is bagged and lays on the ground so clearence could be an issue.

Re: Gas tank help!
A few years ago on here someone posted up pics of a custom tank they had designed on a CAD program that filled in the area behind the rear axle to the back underside edge of the bed. They had designed it to have " wings" that stretched from fender to fender under the frame rails and back up to the bottom side of the bed. They also added in cross over lines at the top to allow the tank to fill completely with no air trapped in the tank.
It was a very well thought out design. I wanna say he claimed almost 50 gallon capacity but just can't remember for sure.
