Grease slinging out of hub 1984 k10

I have some kind of grease slinging out my hub and though the bolts are tight I can still wiggle the hub. I took the cap off and the rings are still in place. Any ideas on what's going on? Other side hub has no grease at all.

By the looks of that wheel and hub I'd be looking into the possibility of the hub getting hot and liquifying the grease. Which would cause it to spray all over the rim like that.

Weird, I have never seen grease sling like that. Could it be gear oil? I don't see how that much gear oil could get down the axle tube. If the grease is liquifying, something must be dragging pretty hard. I have run dragging calipers for extended times before and never saw any grease melting. I'm stumped.

Gear oil will not get that far. If an axle seal failed the gear oil would leak out at the open knuckle (by the axle shaft u-joint)
I have seen it. There could be a few reasons these come to mind off the top of my head:
wrong grease used
wheel bearings too tight
brakes dragging
riding the brakes down a long incline

Chevyman, do you have a non-contact, point and shoot thermometer? If so, let's test Titomars idea. If you drive for a bit, then stop and check the hub temperature. If he's right and the grease is liquefying, you definitely don't want to touch the hub with your hand.

I agree that it can't be gear oil making its way out that far.

Thanks guys, going to try the thermometer and see how hot it is getting. Also going to switch the caps and see if maybe the o ring on the lock out hub cap is to blame.
