CPP Modular Spindle Question

I have read sooo much conflicting information about how these spindles really affect track width. I'm wanting to do a big brake kit of some kind in the near future. So I'm just starting to gather information and decide what brand I want to go with. Most of the kits require the CPP Modular spindle. So here are my questions
1. Will my track width be narrowed by .75" per side going from an ECE 2.5" spindle to these?

2. Since these are only have 2" of drop, Is it ok to replace my 2" springs with 3" springs so that I don't raise my front end up any? Do 3" springs cause any problems?

3. Is .75" even noticeable to the naked eye? I like the way my setup looks now and don't want the front wheels to look too "sucked in". I guess I could run a spacer if I really had to, but would rather not.

Anyway, If anyone has any experience with this, I appreciate the advice. Thanks

Re: CPP Modular Spindle Question

There has been a lot of questions about this. From everything I have read, the .75" in per side is from the location of factory disc brakes. I believe the ECE spindles put the wheels in the stock disc brake location, so yes, it should bring them in.

As for springs, I am not a fan of 3" drop springs due to a couple things. One, they are so short, if you jack your truck up and let the suspension drop all the way down, the springs can fall over in the spring pockets. Two, unless you remove the metal part of the A arm bump stops, you'll be hitting them often. I ran into this.

I really never noticed the difference after the swap. I changed my crappy riding 3" drop springs to a 1" drop spring and 2" modular spindles and it sat the same but rode SOOOO much better as I actually had suspension travel without bottoming out. I would swap spindles and maybe a 1/4 coil (= about 1/2").

I don't have any similar pics but this shows springs only and spindle/spring.

We were given two ears and one mouth for a reason... listen twice as much and speak half as often...
