Under Hood Toolbox-Factory Original or ????
I Recently Purchased This 1961 Apache From The Original Owners Estate. The 94 Year Owner Was A Putzer. He Hand Made Trays And Misc. Holders & Made Little Mods Here And There. He Was A Millright And Had Access To Tools At Work. Under Hood On Drivers Side Is A Pretty Good Looking Toolbox On Top Of Inner Fender. At First I Thought Ah Ha Another Little Mod Of His. But come to think Of It, I'm Pretty Sure I've Seen One On Another Truck. Anybody Else Ever Seen This Add On?

Not anything I've ever seen in any of the original literature. May have been available aftermarket.
Great new addition you have. Nice to see the original 6 cyl still in there!!! The only trucks I'm familiar with having factory tool boxes was the 70-73 or 74 lwb fleetsides

Looks add on to me. If it was factory it probably would have sat level. It also would hinge the other way. Ford and Chevy made tool boxed in the 90s. I saw one on a 96 blazer.

I want one of these. Probably only for long beds though. I wonder if these were in the Silver Book.

Re: Under Hood Toolbox-Factory Original or ????
I can't remember what truck it was, but I did see the tire jack mounted under the hood on the inner fender. That's the only "tool" I've ever seen mounted like that.

Looks like an Army Ammo box with riveted on brackets.
