Pro Comp 210 SBC Heads

What do you guys feel about these? Found a set on Craigslist brand new in box. Should I hop on it? I've seen some say to use them just gut them and put new valves and springs. I don't wanna have to do that, my budget is limited. I don't drive my truck like a maniac and dog it. What is some opinions on them?

What motor would you utilize them on? That would be a determinimg factor. A 210cc head is large volume & usually intended for larger or more aggressive than stock combinations.

I have a 350 crate. Supposedly 95-98 somewhere in those years. I bought the truck with it in it. I was planning on getting these heads then a comp cam and a Holley carb

Too much head for a crate 350 honestly. 180cc-190cc would be the better choice.

Well, think of it this way.... you might be spending money for 210cc heads that could possibly hurt the performance of your crate motor.

Heads w/larger volume need the right cam timing to reap their benefits. Bigger cams kill off cylinder pressure @ typical cruising rpm (1500-2500) which is why performance motors are stepped-up (flat-top or even domed pistons + zero decked block).

You need to consider the entire combo. What chamber size are the heads listed as having?

Well I was going to base my cam off the heads specs. I don't know the specs of the heads yet, guy won't message back. So basically these are too much head? I can't make it work?

ProComp anything is a Chinese brand knock-off of Edelbrock so with that alone I'd stay away. ProComp has changed their name on a lot of lines of parts in an attempt to keep fooling people-if it doesn't say "made in USA" then assume it isn't.

Consider your gear ratios when choosing a cam. Most performance heads are made for high rpm ENG. like 5500 plus. Bigger isn't always better.
