Main Fuse Block Area

I think the fender was off my truck sometime and when re-installed they didn't pay attention and the hose from the washer bottle and main wiring cable are flopping around the inner fender. Looking at the wiring barnes i guess the easiest way to get it where it belongs is to pull out the main fuse block under the hood and feed it from front to back. My question is if I remove the centre bolt in the fuse block under the hood will it just pull out and will the inside part fall into the truck once the bolt is gone.

Re: Main Fuse Block Area

You can remove the center bolt, both sides will unplug together(same time). No the inside will not fall out, it's screwed in on top and bottom. That's the screw tips you see popping out right there.

Re: Main Fuse Block Area

You will be fine. Unbolt it there on the fire wall and it unplugs. Not hard. Its screwed from the inside also.. So will stay put.

Re: Main Fuse Block Area

I ran into the same issue on my K10, when I had the drivers side inner fender out this winter I routed the harness & washer hose through the fender. I can get a picture of it later if you like.

Re: Main Fuse Block Area

Sorry for the delay and picture quality, hope this helps somewhat, I routed the washer line through a hole at each end of the fender and the harness was quite content to sit up in the fender with the inner fender out, sure cleans it up.

Re: Main Fuse Block Area

Thanks Adam. Just noticed you are from Goderich and that is one nice town. I was there is 2012 when they were still rebuilding after the Tornado. Looks like a great place to live especially with the Lake close by. My sister-in-law lives in Thorndale a 100 kms. ( I think 100 ) from Goderich.

Re: Main Fuse Block Area

Always happy to help out. If your ever back in Goderich let me know. I've been through Thorndale before, some really nice little towns around here.

So, the wire harness isn't held in place by any clips or anything? I'm at the point of running it in my truck and was curious.

Actually, it is (at least it was originally). There should be a plastic retaining pin or stud wrapped into the harness that pushes through, from the backside, a hole in the fender just above the top of the inner fender. If you look closely, you can see the stud in the 1st picture below above the tire and about 1" left of the nylon strap (the red wire is the 12 hot wire that is part of the camper harness). The alternator harness is attached similarly to the inner fender as seen in the 2nd picture.
