headers are here. Is this gonna be a problem? pic inside.

After looking at many headers including the stainless ones. I bought some hookers. They were real junk I had to send them back. warped flanges.

I ended up with HEDMAN headers. 1 5/8 with 3 in collector.
These were built very well. Only problem is(and I think I may send them back)
when they were ground flat at the flanges, only one tube is ground to much. I dont want future problems with leaking gaskets. I know how they square the flanges and it looks like only one got grounded down almost flat but at an angle. In the pic you can tell it has a lip on the bottom that will seal with the gasket, on the top you can see it is ground just about flat with the flange.

What should i do? am I over thinking this?? return or install?

Maybe ground to much,, maybe not,,try putting the flange side against a really smooth flat surface such as a counter top and see how flush it fits..if it doesn't have full contact then I would def send it back.

I had a set like that, pull out the mig, and put some weld around all the ports, and grind it all square, I hate leaky header gaskets... They never have enough sealing surface area... Buy the best gaskets you can get and match them up...

Down side to welding on a new header is it would void any warranty claim you might have. I would contact headman..they should make it right.

I'll bet they will make it right. Just show them a picture of your straight edge across it and ask them how this got by quality control.

I had a bad experience with the gaskets supplied by Hedman Hedders; blowouts all over the place. My racing buddy turned me on to Remflex gaskets. Worked great and wouldn't use anything else. http://catalog.remflex.com/

contact headman, while your at it, ask for an upgrade to ceramic coat for your troubles and the delay getting your project put together.

In my opinion, if I spend my hard earned money on a product I expect it to be right. I wouldn't try to fix them myself. They would be on the 1st thing smoking back to where they came from.
