Any You Pull it wrecking yards in Amarillo TX or along 140 towards TN?

On Tuesday, I am leaving Phoenix AZ and driving to the GMC/Chevy Truck Nationals in White House TN. I just figure it is a good way to meet some of my customers out that way and just to meet some new people in general. I am taking I40 across. As I am driving by myself, I figured a few wrecking yards would break up the trip. If any of you know You Pull It wrecking yards or even just interesting stuff to see along the way, I would appreciate the input.

OKC has one next to I40. Easier to get to if you exit at Western and follow the side roads.

I was hoping there was one in Amarillo. I am doing the trip in 3-4 days. I don't want to rush it. As far as inventory goes at the yards, I am not too worried about it. It is something that I enjoy doing and it is a good way to stretch my legs. Memphis sounds good as I am making a stop there to drop some parts off. I am curious about the differences in wrecking yards from the west coast. I am sure there won't be as much as the old stuff like out here but it will be fun anyway.

That sounds like a good one to check out. I have family in Chickasha so will probably pop in on them and say hi so sounds like a good excuse to take a break in the area

If in Memphis take 240 loop to highway 51 north toward Millington. Turn right on Fite Rd. Ricks truck parts will be on your left. Lots of GMC and CHEVY trucks. Lot of square body

When I lived near Memphis 3 years ago, I would hit these yards whenever could. They have online inventory, so that helps. LKQ http://www.lkqpickyourpart.com/locat...s-215/recents/ and Pull-a-Part http://www.pullapart.com/locations/memphis/ I lived in SOCAL also for a few years, I could not get over West Coast yards had really nice cars. Yards were clean and lots of inventory! The South, cars are WELL USED and Mostly BEAT TO DEATH, or have been sitting under a tree for 10-15 years.....

Thanks! This helps! I will actually be staying Louisville. I plan on hitting yards on the way out there and on the way back. It will all depend on how much room I have on the way back on how much I stop. I am picking my sister and nephew up in KY so that will take up some of my parts hauling space.

Check out diyautopartstn.com. Location is about 50 miles east of memphis just about 6-7 miles off I-40. I was there today and there was 5 or 6 squares and 1 69-70ish c10.

Guys, It has been a long trip so far and hoping to finish the final leg tomorrow. I plan on doing a post with pictures of my stops along the way with parts that I bought and squares that I saw sitting. I won't do this until I get settled into my sister's house after the show. I went to both the You Pull it yards in OKC, I didn't buy a thing. I have came up with some good parts along the way and hope to hit a few in Memphis tomorrow.

It was great meeting you too! My brother in law and I had a great time.I didn't get to meet as many people as I had planned but I did get to meet quite a few. I know I was plenty sunburned! I guess that I took it for granted that since it wasn't a million degrees like Phoenix, I didn't need sunblock. After over 30 hours behind the wheel, I was a little wringy too and probably wasn't thinking as well as I should of at 5am in the morning when I was waking up. It was all worth it though meeting some really great guys and going to a great show.

Sorry the tailgate trim didn't work out. Be careful on your return trip, especially going through Arkansas!
