69 lens -"wick"?

just had my 69 park lites out /there was a sponge? or some kind of material in lens drain /maybe to keep critter s out ? never seen these before ?? if factory where may i find some more ??? thanks

They are factory. It's sort of a dense felt material. I believe it's to let condensation evaporate and, as you said, to keep critters such as spiders, etc. from entering. I've collected some from junkyard trucks.

Most every parts carrier for these trucks has them. You can also make your own using craft foam from a hobby store. There's quite a few places on these trucks that use the same foam for gaskets or seals, so I've made a lot of these things myself.
