Seat Swap for Sambo

So after holding on to a couple Porsche Recaros for about 15+ years, I finally have a project worth installing them into, my 77 Cheyenne. If anyone wants to do this, Wedge Brackets makes bucket brackets to fit various after market seats, and offer sliders as well. They fit almost perfect, minor tweaking was all it took, and only two holes to drill.

Out with the old...

Back from two months at the upholsterer (way more than I wanted to spend, surprise!)

Lucked up and found a 76 Jimmy at a local Pick-n-pull about two years ago, which gave up it's console, holds all the necessities, lol...

And a day and a half of the installation fun stuff...

Those are sweet!!! But I have to admit, I like the bench. But they did a wonderful job on the upholstery.

Re: Seat Swap for Sambo

Looks great. Kind of a modern take on the original low back buckets.

Re: Seat Swap for Sambo

Can you post a photo of the bottom of the seat with the bracket installed?

Re: Seat Swap for Sambo

Kind of difficult to get a bottom view since they are installed.

Here is the inboard rear mounting point, bolts to the seat belt holes...

And here is the front mount view. The inboard holes are the ones that have to be drilled, outside holes are the factory bench holes...

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
