Wiper motor
Hello, removing wiper motor on a 66. I removed the 3 bolts that mounts the motor to the firewall. I'm guessing there is something else I have to undo under the cowel? How do I go about that? Thank you

Take pictures of the wiper linkage arms and how they are positioned so it's easier to put back later. There is a nut holding the wiper linkage arms onto the motor armature and another nut holding the armature to the wiper motor. You don't have the remove both nuts, just one and then carefully remove the wiper linkages from the motor. The wiper motor should pull out from under the dash now. Take note that there is a rubberized seal that goes between the wiper motor and the cowl. Vendors sell new ones for about $4.50 but try to save it from being damaged. It might be old and brittle and need replacing anyway. I just went through an installation of my 1965 wiper system 2 nights ago.

Re: Wiper motor
Also....most of the cowl screws I come across are in rough shape. I install new stainless ones from home depot....runs around $1.50 and well worth the investment.
If the linkage gets out of timing....just reset using the timing marks that I showed pics of a few weeks back.
