71 K20 pics

I know everyone likes pics and want to show what I got a few years ago to help me stay motivated to get this thing better than it is and not deteriorate with time(rust).
Here are a few I took today.

Very nice K/20 and one of my favorite color combos. What are your plans for it?

Very nice truck. That air horn is cool - I would like a vintage one of those

Thanks! I wanted to first get it driving again, since it sat for 2 years.(my issue, I got sick and couldn't maintain it) I almost have every thing checked out with one major issue which started out as a small problem.

I have to take care of some rust at the rocker panel cab corner. The rubber molding and seals need to replaced as well.

I like the patina of the paint and I am going to keep it as long as wax keeps it protected, lol.

I bought the truck out in the Los Angeles , and am the 3rd owner. I believe the guy said Maguiar's (from Maguiar wax) owned the truck originally.

The horn worked until last year. One of the hoses must have cracked with the cold winter , I have to fix that. I have never seen a vacuum pump be able to pressure a tank. I wonder how much p.s.i it delivers.

Re: 71 K20 pics

I have the same horn, it works off engine vacuum. mine puts out about 70 lbs. I had to buy a new solonoid because it was cracked and leaking air pressure. now it holds air till the next day. I disconnected the stock horn and hooked it up to the horn button on the steering wheel. Thats a very cool truck by the way, good luck with it...

Re: 71 K20 pics

Looks like a nice K20. Have fun with it. I see it has the blue dials hubs which is a nice bonus.

Take care,
Tom

hamjet: 70 lbs! cool! I have a gallon tank hooked up to it, if I get that much pressure maybe I will hook up a way to inflate a tire.
How did you hook it up to an electric button? This setup pulls a cable to send to the horn. Do you happen to know what year they were available to figure out when it was put on the truck - or about what year?
Thanks for the compliments!

Thanks! I don't know much about locking hubs, how many different types of hubs are out there?
