Removal of rubber from burnout - suggestions
What have you used to clean off the rubber residue left after a burnout. Most people think they look cool but I actually try to avoid burnouts as they cause such a mess with the rubber residue. Did a test launch earlier today after doing some transmission work. Tires had good bite at first then broke loose and then up in rubber smoke. Now it's cleanup time.

Next time your gonna do that wax the bottom lower half of the bed and leave it on then when your done playing just wipe the rubber and wax off at one easy step. I used to do that on my racecar. other than that just rub it down with your hand and it should fall right off.

Just add some numbers on the windows and people will think you're coming from the track...

Re: Removal of rubber from burnout - suggestions
Pledge sprayed on before the burn out will have it where you can just spray with a water hose to get it all off.
That's what I use on my camaro at the race track.

I used to use Pam. Spray it on liberally before burnouts. Comes off easy later on.

Re: Removal of rubber from burnout - suggestions
Sorry for any confusion, I meant the rubber on the truck not the roadway.

WD40 as posted above will melt it away. Easiest and fastest way.

Re: Removal of rubber from burnout - suggestions
"WD40, duct tape and bailing wire". Until recently, never found much use for bailing wire......Works great to tap into screw holes that are stripped. Add velcro to the list. If something light needs to be mounted and can't be bolted down..............velcro. I use it for lots of stuff (e.g. finish piece of hickory face for front/bottom dishwasher). Have an interesting "invention" using the stuff. Works great. I'm not interested in paying for a patent. Not sure it's worth the effort either. It's real simple and cheap too. Addresses a common household inconvenience, for which there are no current purchase options.
