Lower molding trim- what's the trick?!?

I have new lower molding for my blazer and it has the push in & screw type clips. How do you know when to use the puch in and when to use the screw in? Also is there a good trick to doing these? I am just not wanting to get to the last piece of molding and end up short of the push in or screw type. Hope this made sense. Any advice is REALLY welcome!

We don't use the push in type clips on the lower moldings as we have had trouble with them staying in place. If you want to use pushins, I would suggest, screw types for the ends, and pushins for the middle holes.

Then do you use all stickyback type clips? Are you using aftermarket brand of trim kits? Any pics? Are there different manufacturers of kits?

I am using aftermarket trim. It looks real nice! The clips seem to work good. I will post a pic later. My kit came with some screw type clips and some that pop into the hole. I don't see how they can pop loose. Working good for me so far.

Cheyenne 10,

We don't use the stick on clips either. We have taken several trucks apart with the stick on clips and none of them have been stuck. The new stick on clips make the chrome stand out more than the metal screw type, so even if the adhesive is better, we don't care for the look. We use used clips that we sandblast and
paint. The screw type clips are very positive and hold the lower chrome on tightly to the body. The issues that you can run into are in the door, (front clip behind the door hinge) and the rear
fender chrome on the front fender, (easiest to install with the fender off).
