Mustang II Drop Height.. 1954 C3100

hi,

I was wondering if there is a Mustang II conversion for a 1954 C3100 truck that does NOT drop the front end down. I wanted to keep the same ride height but not sure if anyone offers that option in the Mustang II conversions

I think that is about as close to stock as you are going to get on a MII without some creative reworking.. Note the location of his UCA's compared to the other systems some of us used.

...you got it. Every other Mustang II IFS vendor will only sell you low, lower or lowest. That's all anyone talks about on the internet, so....

...thing is, when I go to shows or cruise nites lots of people want to know how I got my near stock stance.

My advice, buy Gayle Bridges modification of the JW Rodgarage FE I bought...

Only other alternative is Scott's for about twice the money. When I talked to him he claimed I could set any height I wanted (seems to depend on how you weld in his cross member). His system is a 59" track, that's how his suspension clears the frame. Very slick...

Mine can have the optional shorter A-arms if you want the stock track, but I like it at 59" - the wheels don't look like they are sucked in (a complaint I hear a lot about Must II ifs.

Glad to hear you recommend him, Hampshire. I just bought a front suspension from him for a Model A project we're doing. Saw his stuff at the Petit Jean swap meet in Arkansas and he had answers to more of my questions than any other MII supplier I talked to.

Gayle is a super nice guy. He was involved in developing a Mustang II ifs stuff back in the early 90s with Jim Weimer. He also did some stuff for Fatman back in the day. He did precise Autocad drawings for me & was always there to help with his considerable knowledge base. He not only knows these systems, he knows suspension when it comes to retrofits on a variety of vintage vehicles. A good example of when dealing with vendors, bigger isn't always better....

Yup, when I heard he was basically a home based business(as am I)plus he's only about 130 miles from me I was almost convinced. When he quoted me the price, he finished me off. Saving about $700 over the nearest quote I got off the 'net.
In addition to the drawings for the Model A, he sent me drawings for a bunch of other classics he's got kits for.
