01 Blazer tire options
Im in need to new tires on this 01 4D 2WD Blazer I bought for my daughter. The stock size is 235/70/15. It has 225/75/15 now and they look like bike tires. I wouldnt mind something that fills the wheel wells better, but I dont want to change wheels or suspension..
What are you guys running and can you show some pics? Thanks!

Re: 01 Blazer tire options
235/75/15 was an option from the factory, and they are larger than what you have now.
30x9.50 will fit with zero rubbing 31x10.50 will rub. I have 30x9.50 on my 99. |

Re: 01 Blazer tire options
That would fit. It's 29" tall and about 10" wide. It's not a very popular size, and might be limited in selection and higher in price.

Re: 01 Blazer tire options
That size would probably be a good choice.

Re: 01 Blazer tire options
A 30x9.5 tire is 9.5" wide and 29.5" tall.
If you want wider but almost as tall, go to a 265 70 15 that's 10.7 wide and 29" tall. A little more agressive width for that meaty look. And the 265 tire will ride and handle better. We went from the 30x tire to the 265 on our 2005 blazer and were amazed at the difference in ride, handling, power needed to keep rolling and quieter. Sorry, can't find a pic! |

Re: 01 Blazer tire options
The only blazer offered in 05 was the zr2, unless it was fleet ordered.
I will try to get a couple pics of my 99. |

Re: 01 Blazer tire options
I drive a 03 2DR 4X4 as my daily. It came with 235/75R15 from factory. I am now running 30 x 9.5s and have been since my first set of tires, about 5 sets now as i now have almost 245,000 miles on it. My wife's daily driver is a 97 4DR 4X4 GLADIATOR customs package with about 190,000 miles on it currently. we have pt 65,000 miles on it in just short of 3 years now. It too came with 235/75R15 on it from factory we bought this one used from the repo lot I worked at, the pay off was too good to pass up at $600! I run the original size tires on it but not as aggressive of tread, more of a highway tire since we go back and forth to SW Florida "Port Charlotte" several times a year. The difference in Ride and Handling are much better and fuel economy is noticeable by about 60+ MPG per tank. My advise to you is depending on the amount of time you spend in the truck and amount of highway to off road use should determine what tire size you run and how aggressive of tread u want. I love my "MT"s but if i had to listed to them hum for 1100 miles i would probably go insane along with having to see a chiropractor as soon as i arrived, lol. The auto volume on my radio in the 2DR goes up and down more than the waves in the Atlantic from my mud tires. And when driving at highway speeds i watch as people along side of me either look to see what the hell that train sounding noise is or turn their radios up trying to drown me out. That being said, I have yet to get stuck in mud or snow with my "MT"s though. The 4HI button is like my " No Stuck Button". I have actually pulled a Maryland State Trooper in a "AWD Tahoe" out of a snow bank. along with many other vehicles that had no business being out in bad weather. Point is' for every negative, there is a positive. It all comes down to your needs for the truck. hope my ramblings help in one way or another. good luck. Cherokee John
