Ok its gotten too hot here in Texas to enjoy my K5 So!
I took it in to our local gurus at South Side Trim of DFW and put Brian Walsh who is a great guy up to the task of making truly cool/cold seats! I bought this kit in the link from coolshirts.com and am having the tubing converted to run under the factory (I hope) seat covers. He is also installing the roll bar I got from Bronco Bob and maybe getting a soft top for me too.
Any suggestions let me know please. Check it out. PG http://coolshirt.com/product/pro-air-water-system/ |

That system appears to be designed to go into a shirt and helmet. Do you have any concerns about the cooling tubes holding up under all the "sitting" stresses and deformation (stretching and compression) a seat undergoes under load? A small leak under the seat cover could cause all kinds of trouble. Perhaps just get the coolshirt and wear that every time you drive the blazer!

It has crossed my mind the tubing does seem like it would be quite durable.
I wonder if they make braided SS tubing that would work. PG |

I have bought this but not installed as you would have to cut the seat backs.
I understand they work well. PG |

Well the coolseat idea was/is a failure so far they said it made a ton of condensation and thought it would ruin my seats in a year. If any one has some big bright ideas I am open to suggestions. I may try to find a new back for my drivers seat and cut a hold in the middle to install that Viotek air cushion. PG

Maybe get some seats out of a newer vehicle that already have the a/c built in? A previous owner of my Jimmy put in electric adjust seats, so that can be done, so I don't see why you couldn't do it with a/c seats.
Or run a tap from your A/C head unit under your seat (mounted in such a way that it works, not just blowing cold air under your seat out the back side heh).

OK I installed the Viotek works pretty good it actually sucks air off your back and discharges it through he back of the seat. If it was twice as powerful I think it would really work great. Still a big improvement in my back and ass sweat when in the direct sun and in the 90's. Went out this am an put in 6 miles on the river was all sweaty and it dried my back and ass off by the time I got back home about a ten minute ride.
Only problem is you have to remove the factory seat back mine is cracked and beat up so I am going to cut a spot for the tubes after a few weeks if it continues to make me fairly happy. Thanks PG |

So the unlucky passenger behind the driver gets to inhale all of the evaporated sweat, BO, and farts that get sucked into the seat?

Technically the fan tucks under the drivers seat so it would be circulated around for all to enjoy. I actually feel like this thing works ok for what it is.
I wish there was a better choice but so far this is the best option I have found. PG |

Hey, if you are getting some improvement in comfort using the system in an open top vehicle in Texas, I'd say it is working pretty good.
