3 Chevy project trucks
I have just started working on these: 58 Viking grain truck, 51 3800 long bed, 48 3800 stake bed.
This is the 1948 Stake Bed [IMG][/IMG] This is the 58 Chevy Viking. It is in much worse shape than these pictures. [IMG][/IMG] I will have to take pictures of the 51 later. I started with the seats. They were all rusty from the pack rats living in them. I tried sand blasting them myself but they were too much for me. Luckily I found a place that did them. I had to prime and paint the frames and then rebuild some springs and fix the frames. I got vinyl for the 58 and got the burlap, felt covering, and cotton batting from PerfectFit. I hog ringed in the burlap and felt but used the C clips on the vinyl. Using them allows a person to keep tightening in stages to get the upholstery in the correct spot.

Re: 3 Chevy project trucks
I started with the seats. The first picture is what came out of the 48 but they were all in a very rusted state.
The next pictures are of the 58 seat after sandblasting and priming and painting. I used burlap over the springs. I folded the edges. I used two thicknesses of this felt stuff. In process of hog ringing felt and burlap into place.
