'69 chevy c-10 blower fan
Good morning all,,,,,I'm wondering if anyone in here has replaced the heater fan motor in their trucks? Mine is the original motor. I'm wonder if there is a more powerful motor(higher rpms) that I can put in it. I don't know if the replacement motor from LMC would put out more air,,,,. Any input would be great,,,,thanks,,Bill.

Hi Bill, I think the blower motors for trucks with A/C might have a few more RPM's. If you are not getting enough air through your system now I would suspect a problem with junk or mouse nests in your heater boxes. If everything is clean and open in the heating system, and the ductwork is in place, the heaters and defrosters work great in these trucks. You could take the blower motor out and bench test it to see of it has any problems. That way you can check the squirrel cage for holes and check the outer heater box for debris and mouse nests.... X2 what Leon said. Also make sure its going in all 3 speeds. sometimes the fan speed lever doesn't put it in high speed.

Re: '69 chevy c-10 blower fan
I thought there was a thread (might be in the 73-87 section) where guys were using the heater motor/cage assy. from something like a late 80's C30 with a/c. Supposed to be a direct fit, steel cage, and much higher rpm. I'll see if I can find it

Re: '69 chevy c-10 blower fan
didn't find the thread i was thinking about, but saw a few reference the following.
Go to either O'Reilly or Autozone and tell em you want part number "pm129". I for some reason they don't wanna give it to you without looking it up give em a 94 chevy pickup k1500 with a 5.7l v8, and they'll pull up the number I gave you.

I don't think that one will fit. I think the squirrel cage is deeper. I was wrong once before though...... Just be sure and take your old one with you. LockDoc

The outside box will probably be full too, on the other side of the heater core. It's not as easy to get off. LockDoc
