how much metal framing in a stock 67 72 dash pad

Does anyone have a photo of a stripped or know how much metal is in the dash pad and how thick? I am looking to make a custom clock into my dash pad and not sure if I can use the metal in the pad to secure the clock so its not flimsy or will I have to mount it directly into the metal dash. going to try to make it look like the just dashes gauges but with only one pod and a 67 Camaro clock.
