Vintage Brush Guard
I'm looking for a period correct brush guard for one of my K10s and was wondering if anyone had one. If you have one you don't need let me know--these should be flat stock I believe and used existing bumper bolts to fix in position? Thanks, Dave.

Re: Vintage Brush Guard
I'd suggest posting this in the "Parts Forum" and keep your eyes glued to this site. Also, hit some junkyards.
One final thing you could do, is make your own. I took a welding class this summer and it has changed my life. I am already making my own tow hitch for my truck. |

Re: Vintage Brush Guard
Is this something Midunes is now making? I believe I saw where he is, and heavier like the ones I used to make. The ones that were on the market were minimal built using 1/4" plate, 2" tube, and no tube at the bottom. There were holes for Jeep hooks at the bottom and the first time you used them the sides collapsed in. I made mine using 3/8" plate, 2.5" Schedule 40 tube, and a 3rd tube at the bottom. For tow hooks I always welded a chain hook because you could hook a chain at any length or even use a chain with no hook. We never had Snatch-um straps till later. These mount using the same holes as factory bumper but longer grade 8 bolts were required.

Re: Vintage Brush Guard
I think he is talking about the GM accessories brush guard. It was made with the flat bar he was talking about. They are still out there I found both versions (gmc & chevy) in a salavage yard a year ago. Trevor

I am assuming you are meaning brush so I am not able to help you out there. I have a push guard from Open Road that was on my 68 that I am not sure will be going back on.

Re: Vintage Brush Guard
Dave K., I have a full cover the grill brush guard, pretty sure it is factory built but can't confirm that as have never found a tag or stamp on it. So as not to turn this into a Sale ad I will post pics in the 67-72 parts forum.
